Although
we try to keep it as simple as possible for you, you may have some
questions regarding the ordering, billing or proofing process. We
also offer some practical tips for photography, sending files and
a few tips for writing the memorable text that fits you and your
newborn.
How long will it take to
receive my announcements/invitations?
The design and printing time varies. We usually ship in 3-5 days
(excluding weekends) after we receive your final approval. The shipping
time will vary according to the shipping method you select. Shipping
takes between 2 to 7 business days.
What is the turnaround time for my announcement proof?
Your email proof will be sent to the address provided on the order
form within 2 business days after your order and/or photograph has
been received.
What if I do not receive an order confirmation
via e-mail?
You will receive an order confirmation message via e-mail shortly
after Parallax Visual Communication receives your order. If you
do not receive a confirmation after one business day please contact

Will I receive the card
in the exact colors as shown on the website?
Due to the nature of the printing process, colors may have a slight
variation from the samples shown. No discounts will be given for
these slight variations.
Can I see how my invitation/announcement
will look before it is printed?
Yes, we will email you a digital proof of the card to the email
address that you have supplied in your order. The proof is an exact
image of the card with the text that will be printed on your announcements
so please check it carefully. We are happy to make one change at
no extra charge, but please note that making a change will delay
production, as we will have to send you another proof for approval
before we can begin production. Extra changes, after the first one,
will be charged at $15 per change.
What should I look for in
the proof?
Please carefully review all ordering information: quantity, shipping
address/method, dates. wording, spelling, layout of the order. Upon
approval, announcements/invitations will be printed exactly as shown.
There is no return or refund on custom printed items. While Parallax
Visual Communication provides the highest quality of service, we
are only responsible for the order as approved.
How is the proof sent?
It is sent as a PDF, which is a cross platform format (mac or pc).
You will receive an email with an attached PDF of your proof. You
can download free software (Adobe Acrobat Reader) to read and print
the proof. Click

Can I make changes after I send you my approval?
Chances are very slim that you will be able to make changes. Once
we receive your final approval, your order is scheduled for printing.
Printing is scheduled in the order they are received and typically
printed the day of or the day following receipt of final approval.
We recommend that you spend as much time as you need reviewing the
proof before you send your final approval.
Are the announcements assembled when I receive
them?
Yes, the cards will have all ribbons and other applied elements
attached to the cards when you receive them. The only thing you
will need to do is to place them in the envelopes.
Can I use the shown announcement for a baby
shower or other event?
Yes, the announcements can be used for any event and in most cases
there will be plenty of room to customize the text. Email us at

Do you have Thank You Notes or other cards
that have the same design as the one I like?
Yes, although not shown on the website, we do offer folded note
cards with a very similar look to each announcement, but slightly
different from the announcement. The Note Cards measure 5 1/2 X
8 1/2 inch flat and 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inch folded. They come with matching

Can I make additional changes like colors,
patterns, typography, etc. to any given announcement besides the
text?
Yes, we will create a customized design for you at an extra charge
of $25 per change. Example: changing the color blue to green is
considered to be one change.
Can the card be printed in a different language besides English?
Yes, as long as the English characters are used. You must provide
us with a copy of the text via the order form or email.
What if I receive my order and find that
I missed a mistake?
Neither party likes a reprint but they do occasionally occur. Be
sure to carefully check the proof for all dates, wording, spelling,
punctuation, layout, etc. to avoid costly reprints. If we make a
mistake, your order will be reprinted at our expense. If an error
is made which was out of our control, we will re-print at 75% off
the original charge. ENVELOPES AND MAILING
Can I choose an envelope
color myself?
Yes, you can. We suggest a preferred option because in the designer‘s
opinion this choice best matches your announcement. But if you would
like to choose a different color please feel free.
Can I choose a different envelope size?
No, the size of the envelope is dependent on the size of the announcement
and is fixed.
Can I get my return address printed on the envelopes?
To have your return address printed on your envelopes, select “Print
return address” in the return address field on the order page.
There is an additional $25 fee for this service. Your return address
will be printed on the back flap of the envelope.
How many envelopes come with in the order?
The exact amount of envelopes as invitations/announcements are included
with the order. However, you may purchase additional envelopes at
$.15 each.
Can I get my envelopes sent to me in advance?
Yes. We are glad to pre-ship your envelopes (within three business
day of receiving
your order, four to five if imprinted) for a $15 charge. Send us

Do the announcements require extra postage?
Extra postage is only required on square cards. Consult your local
U.S. Post Office for the latest rate. As of June 30, 2002, the rate
for a square postage was $0.49.
Are envelopes included?
Yes, envelopes are included with all orders.

Do I have to pay by credit
card?
Yes, at this time we are only accepting credit card payments. Your
order will not be processed until credit card payment is approved.
Which credit cards are accepted?
Parallax Visual Communication accepts MasterCard, Discover and Visa.
When is my credit card charged?
Your credit card is charged at the time you place your order. Should
you need to cancel your order before we create a proof, we will
issue a full refund. If we have already created your proof, we will
refund all but $15. For obvious reasons we cannot cancel an order
after printing.
Can I cancel an order?
If your order has not yet been printed, we can cancel it. Please
contact us as soon as possible. If you need to cancel your order
before we create a proof, we can issue a full refund. If we have
already created your proof, we will refund all but $15. If your
order has already been custom printed, we are unable to cancel it
because it is impossible for us to reuse the cards.
Do you charge sales tax?
As required by law we charge a 7.75% sales tax for customers inside
California. SHIPPING
How much does shipping cost?
Orders will be shipped via United Parcel Service either overnight
$55, 2 day$30 or ground$20.
Please make sure to use a street address because UPS will not ship
to a P.O. box.
Do you ship out of the United States?
Yes we do. There will be additional shipping charges. Please email

requires a photo, do I need to provide that photograph?

Can I send a color photo
although the designs show black and white photography?
Yes you can send a color photo. We will translate this color photo
into black and white to match the intended design of the card.
ANNOUNCEMENT TEXT
I don’t like what
is written on the card that is shown on the website,
can I write my own?
Absolutely. Write whatever you want as long as it fits in the space
provided. Click here for writing

Can I choose a different font?
No. In order to keep the design unique and intact, the fonts used
are the ones shown on the samples.
Can I modify any text on the announcement?
Yes, except for the Parallax Announcement copyright notes and warning
on Baby Life Light announcement. You can change all text as long
as it fits within the space provided.
